Arms and the Man is a comedy by George Bernard Shaw, whose title comes from the opening words of Virgil's Aeneid, in Latin: Arma virumque cano ("Of arms and the man I sing"). The play was first produced on April 21, 1894 at the Avenue Theatre and published in 1898 as part of Shaw's Plays Pleasant volume, which also included Candida, You Never Can Tell, and The Man of Destiny. Arms and the Man was one of Shaw's first commercial successes. He was called onto stage after the curtain, where he received enthusiastic applause. However, amidst the cheers, one audience member booed. Shaw replied, in characteristic fashion, "My dear fellow, I quite agree with you, but what are we two against so many" AWE me - YouTube AWE me is here to Amaze Wow and Educate Home to Mind-Blowing shows Man At Arms: Reforged Super Fan Builds DIY Prop Shop and DIY Cosplay Shop and Epic H Arms and the Man (Dover Thrift Editions): George Bernard In the opening scene of Arms and the Man which establishes the play's embattled Balkan setting young Raina learns of her suitor's heroic exploits in combat Arms and the Man - Sydney Theatre Company You are a romantic idiot Raina Sydney Theatre Company presents ARMS AND THE MAN by George Bernard Shaw The sweetest sharpest love triangle of the year Arms and the Man: Novel Summary Novelguide Arms and the Man: Novel Summary Free Study Guides and book notes including comprehensive chapter analysis complete summary analysis author biography information Arms and the Man - CliffsNotes Arms and the Man; Play Summary; Table of Contents All Subjects Play Summary; About Arms and the Man; Character List; Summary and Analysis; Preface; Act I; Act II Arms and the Man Themes - eNotescom Arms and the Man is most obviously an attack on the false ideals of warfare and the soldiers profession Late nineteenth century British society especially the About Arms and the Man - CliffsNotes Study Guides About Arms and the Man Bookmark this page Manage My Reading List One of Shaw's aims in this play is to debunk the romantic heroics of war; Man-at-arms - Wikipedia A man-at-arms was a soldier from the High Medieval to Renaissance periods who was typically well-versed in the use of arms and served as a fully armoured heavy cavalryman Arms and the Man - Wikipedia Arms and the Man is a comedy by George Bernard Shaw whose title comes from the opening words of Virgil's Aeneid in Latin: Arma virumque cano ("Of arms and the man I Arms and the Man Summary - eNotescom Complete summary of George Bernard Shaw's Arms and the Man eNotes plot summaries cover all the significant action of Arms and the Man
